10 Things

  1.  I have a fair amount of knowledge about a wide range of subjects. This means I can make a decent-looking cake unless you want a fancy three-tiered wedding extravaganza and I can mend a costume  but not make said costume.
  2. I studied Russian in high school. Don't ask why. I don't know.
  3. If I could, I'd walk around the world barefoot. That's probably why I don't have a big she collection.
  4. When I get into a hobby I dive in feet first. Scrapbooking, knitting, photography, baking.
  5. I'm a born again Moroccan. I love it all: the food, the music, the caftans, the fabrics, the decor.
  6. I'm a perfectionist. This makes it so hard to get anything done because it has to be *just so* or why bother? And once I finish something? fiddle...fiddle...fiddle
  7. Growing up I hated summer and the heat. Now I love it. I still love the cold weather and the rain, but sitting in the sun at the beach? Love it!
  8. I have a love-hate relationship with blogging. I really do love it, but feel I don't have the time to finish a post (see no. 6) or that I have anything too interesting to say.
  9. I love the internet. And my smartphone. And computers. And GPS. I love living in the 21st century with all of these great tools and I can't wait to see what's coming next and what my girls will see in their lifetime.
  10. I'm thrilled to be a homeschooler. I love having my kids near me and seeing the wonder as they learn something. I love helping them learn how to learn and watching them figure out hypotheses and testing them. I love that my girls are learning to think for themselves and I know that they are the future of the world and won't be stopped. There are herds of free-thinking, knowledge-seeking kids out there and combined with today's technology they are the revolution.
